This EP produced by Conrank can only be billed as a landmark collaboration between two heavyweights of the beatbox scene. In the red corner London’s Killa Kela who’s previously worked with artists including Pharell, Prince & De La Soul and in the blue corner stands Paris beatbox pioneer Eklips, the man behind this incredible video documenting the history of hip-hop in 4 minutes. Fusing hip-hop, electro and dubstep influences to produce a futuristic tapestry of rich vocal percussion, harmonies and instrument imitation, their ‘Crowd Control’ EP pushes the boundaries of the human voice – and then some. In more exciting news, DMC have launched a worldwide beat juggling competition using beats from the E.P. Grab it for free below …

Lively, soulful and downright rude. These are but a few of the words that
can be used to describe this next smasher Rankadank has cooked up.
Label founder ‘Conrank’ has delivered this Drumstep masterpiece and is
proud to bring it to the masses.
‘OH GOD’ features an lively mix of both atmosphere and wobbly bass
combined with a brilliant melodic vibe. Conrank has hit the nail on the
head once again with this epic creation!
This tune is perfect addition for any DJ’s collection, and as we get
closer and closer, it is sure to be an absolute summer smasher from Asia
to America!!
After a gruelling 48 hrs doing a mini tour of Taiwan which resulted in about 3 hours sleep over the space of 3 days i ended up back in Shanghai for the “Shanghai Midi Festival”. i love playing festivals and the feeling of being outside in front of thousands of people surpasses anything else i have experienced in my life. When i arrived i was pleasantly surprised, a huge stage, a beautiful clear blue sky day and ELECTRiCiTY!!! which we sadly lacked at “Nanjing Blossom Festival”. Antidote who are a China based promotion/events company based in Shanghai were in charge of the electronic stage and although they always put in 110% it’s not always certain that the festival organisers care if the electronic stage happens or not, i can almost hear in my head a conversation that would end in some remark like “it doesnt matter, its only DJ’s”! BUT this was different, Antidote was on top form, the DJ’s were on top form and the festival organisers obviously actually cared!
i jumped on at about 6.30pm and didn’t look back, what a great end to an amazing weekend… here’s some pics courtesy of Kyle Ching and the line up for the whole weekend!

Another remix out of the gates, this time of Rankadank signing ‘Koya’ … heres what the blogs had to say:
“Drumstep (at least in our opinion) can be a little hit or miss, but ConRank definitely has a hold on the genre and has crafted a coherent and soulful remix–definitely one that does justice to the original.”
